JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, manufacture detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and

verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment. Determine how to set up machines

based on instructions received.

 

Senior Level Machinist with experience using MASTERCAM software to program CNC Mill and Lathe. Responsible for programming, fixturing , setup and operating CNC Mill/Lathe. Using CAD 3-D model (step file) to determine Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance High School graduate with Trade School certified Machinist Apprentice program. 15 years experience in a machine shop. Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written skills. The position requires occasional second shift and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                                 

  1.    Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, Technical Manuals, specifications, or sample part to                   

        determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and

        setup requirements.

  2.    Operate mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores, and other machining equipment                         

        using mathematical and geometrical calculations.

  3.    Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and                         

        materials on machines.

  4.    Set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth                      

        and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine

        control media.

  5.    Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining,                  

         and adjust machine controls.

  6.    Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.                                                                

  7.    Perform routine maintenance per manufacture instructions.                                                                  

  8.    Perform related duties as assigned or required.                                                                                     

EDUCATION

   A High School Diploma or General Education Degree or equivalent experience is required.

EXPERIENCE

   15 years of related experience is required.

  COMPUTER EXPERIENCE

   Knowledge of Word is required.
