Sr Electrical Engineer

•Design, develop, and test high voltage (10+ kV) low current power supplies for space applications including, but not limited to, instruments, detectors, and lasers.
•Perform schematic design, component selection, and magnetics design and testing in support of Printed Wiring Board (PWB) development as well as oversee board layout and testing.
•Develop test plans and procedures to support bench top and vacuum chamber tests for high voltage applications at component and subsystem levels; conduct tests, collect and analyze data and report results.
•Develop EGSE and data acquisition systems to collect test data using commercial of the shelf hardware and standard lab equipment (Multimeters, oscilloscopes).
•Assist with technical proposals by providing proof of concept designs and prototypes as well as proposal technical write-ups.
•Work within a team to coordinate activities and accomplish objectives.
•Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
•Ten years of professional experience with minimum two years of applicable experience.
•Prior hands on experience with parts selection, flight magnetics, and board layout and testing.
•Prior experience in operating laboratory instrumentation, corona testing, and high voltage safety practices.
•Familiarity with design for manufacturing elements associated with high voltage power supplies including vacuum potting techniques, high dielectric constant materials and vacuum systems in general.
•Familiarity with end use applications of high voltage power supplies including Ionization Sources, ESA type instrumentation using CEM and MCP detectors, and Photometers used in low level light detection.
•Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
•Must be able to pass a Government background investigation for access to government facilities. No sponsorship.
