Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a Temporary Mechanical Engineer to join our Dynamics group in Chandler, AZ.
Role description & Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of a lead engineer, the candidate will evaluate the structural integrity of launch vehicle components. Candidate will also have opportunities to design and analyze basic test concepts to be used for structural testing launch vehicle structures and support hardware. Candidate will generate sketches, write test procedures, document analysis results and conduct tests. Candidate must be able to understand the scope of tasks, visualize basic design concepts, perform analysis utilizing appropriate classical and computer aided techniques, and prepare results for presentation orally and in writing.
This is a temporary position expected to last 9-12 months.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Background in vibration theory, dynamics, statistics, and finite element method
- Working knowledge of MATLAB
- Ability to apply fundamental analytical techniques and prepare written analyses
- BSME or BSAE
- U.S. citizenship
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience with coupled loads and modal analysis
- Prior or current clearance
- MSME or MSAE
Position requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with a minimum of two years related work experience or a MS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with some related work experience preferred.
