Design Engineer – FPGA Design

Northrop Grumman seeks a FPGA Design Engineer experienced in FPGA development, digital signal processing, and communication theory to perform the following tasks

  • Participate on small multi-discipline teams to achieve project goals
  • Perform analysis to support derivation of specification based customer requirements
  • RTL development utilizing hardware description language (VHDL (preferred),  Verilog, and/or System Verilog) and debug via simulation tools.
  • Perform synthesis and place and route.
  • Develop verification plans to support development.
  • Support technical reviews and be able to present to internal and external customers.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3  to 10 years’ experience in FPGA definition, design, debug, and test.
  • Experience in implementing and testing DSP/Algorithms.
  • RTL  development utilizing hardware description language (VHDL (preferred),      Verilog, and/or System Verilog) and debug via simulation tools.
  • Prior experience in support of synthesis and place and route.
  • Prior experience in support of verification plan execution and approaches to support development.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office software suite in support of standard development      tasks
  • Secret Clearance

Experience Preferred:

  • FPGA design and development utilizing Altera, Xilinx, or Microsemi devices
  • Working knowledge of Version      Control Systems (Git or SVN)
  • HDL programming experience with      VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog for synthesis
  • Experience with System on Chip      (SOC) devices and firmware interfaces
  • Working knowledge of PCIe or other      industry standard interfaces.
  • Simulation and analysis using      MATLAB
  • Embedded development using C/C++
  • Active TS/SCI

Education/Certifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or  related field; M.S. preferred
