Under general supervision, following general instructions and with discretion as to work details, develop complete major layout and engineering drawings of complicated components and assemblies such as schematics, interconnect lists, parts breakdown, printed circuit board layouts, wire lists, etc., from notes, rough sketches, or general instructions of engineers and designers. Make mathematical calculations as required. Determine scaling, insert necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations and sectioning. May use special techniques in schematic drawing, isometric, orthographic, perspective projection or other techniques of technical illustration. Contribute design modifications to improve quality of product or manufacturing operation. Working knowledge of tolerances, materials, finishes, etc. May provide work leadership to staff.
The Applicant will be responsible for the design of high density mixed technology printed circuit cards per IPC and Orbital ATK Design Specifications. This designer will be responsible for the creation of schematic, fabrication, and circuit card assembly drawing packages and for checking drawings created by other designers. The work will consist of a combination of board types, but mostly analog & digital and will have both thru hole and SMT parts, but mostly SMT. The layers are usually around 12-18. Experience using Cadence Allegro AWB for the board layout and Cadence Allegro HDL for schematic capture is preferred.
A High School Diploma or General Education Degree or equivalent experience is required.
Five years of related experience is required.
Knowledge of Windows & CAD required. Additional Skills: Cadence Allegro AWB & Allegro HDL experience
An Associate’s degree in electronics or a related technical field is preferred.
