Orbital ATK Defense Systems Group has an exciting opening for a talented Associate Systems Engineer within the Armament Systems Division based in Plymouth, MN.

Position Overview:

As an Systems Engineering Intern you will perform and support design, development, analysis, and test for engineering projects.


? Support the creation and management of system requirements, system architecture models, specifications, and system timeline analysis while supporting system verification, system validation, system trades studies and system safety efforts.

? Help negotiate requirements with internal customers, such as, Design Engineering, Program Management and Business Development leveraging the Systems Engineering Management Planning documentation.

? Support the creation and deployment of systems engineering management tools that help drive system requirements management, automated configuration matrix, automated compliance matrix and integration with design engineering.

? Supports proposal-writing efforts for new Systems Engineering projects or products through Systems Integration or Technical Director leads.

? Manages the individual project risks (identifies potential risks and proposes mitigation strategies to technical leadership and program management).

? Prepares and presents system engineering materials during System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review and other formal program reviews.

? An interest in driving projects decisions, engaging in innovative brainstorming, and a leveraging connectivity technologies and theories to advance systems communication.


? 6 months - 1 year of a professional engineering internship experience

? Pursing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Engineering

? Experience with software development tools and languages (Java, Unity, iOS, C++, C#...etc)

? Experience or interest in Internet of Things (IoT)Design

? System debugging experience

? Engagement in 1-2 professional engineering organizations as a team member or leader with budgeting responsibility

? Engagement in 1 general community organizations as a team member or leader

? GPA 3.0 or above
