Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
This individual will be the primary contact for the procurement of goods and services supporting the Iuka facility from an indirect funding perspective. As such, the individual will manage purchase orders of various amounts and complexities. They will support and manage the RFQ/RFI process supporting Iuka for these commodities. They will draft and negotiate strategic agreements with suppliers for longer term support. They will review all requisitions for completeness and clarity and work with the initiator to ensure they have what they need prior to moving forward with the purchase order process. They will work within the Northrop Grumman purchasing system ensuring they comply with all directives and procedures. The individual will support all functional departments and provide suggestions and innovative changes to ensure best practice. The individual will maintain metrics to track various performance measures. The individual will be required to evaluate and manage the suppliers to ensure consistent quality and continuous improvement is maintained. All procurement efforts are contained within the ERP system used by Northrop Grumman and will require the individual to be fluent with computers and procurement management software systems.
Education: Minimum B.A/B.S. or equivalent experience as a Buyer purchasing for a manufacturing facility
2 years procurement experience
Basic understanding of MRP logic
RFQ/RFP and procurement execution experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent follow-up
Proficiency with Microsoft skills required
Presentation skills, with the ability to comfortably present risks and achievements to a management team
Ability to think "outside the box" and establish positive supplier and internal customer relationships
Proficient Use of Microsoft Office Suite Skills
Knowledge and Use of ERP / MRP / ROP Systems and Structures (Deltek Costpoint Preferred)
High Level of Communication & Presentation Skills (Oral and Written)
High Level of Organization and Planning Skills
