Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

Northrop Grummanis currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in our Dayton, OH office. 

The position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for various financial functions such as payroll, timekeeping, overhead budgeting, rate planning, auditing, forecasting, and analysis within a CAS environment.  Reviews financial and schedule data received from both managers and the accounting systems for accuracy and indications of cost spending trends.  Maintains and presents documented financial information to various levels of management.  The Analyst ensures compliance with internal procedures and DFAR/FAR government regulations.  Participates in audits and interfaces with government auditors to ensure an understanding of financial data, methodology, and applicability under appropriate government regulations exists. 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred) is required. 

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience with financial functions, such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Enterprise Accounting Systems (Cobra, CostPoint etc)
  • Demonstrated advanced critical thinking and analytical skills
  • To effectively contribute to the organization, this position must be able to communicate financial/program information efficiently within a matrix organization 

Experience Preferred

  • Earned Value Management with Cost Performance Reporting.
  • Aerospace or DOD industry experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Accounting Software Costpoint, Cognos and Program Control Software (MPM, Cobra, etc.)
