Orbital ATK is currently seeking a Program Manager in our Advanced Propulsion & Systems (AP&S) Market Segment located in our Palm Beach Gardens, FL office.

  • Plan and execute all aspects of contracted programs with complete responsibility for successfully managing all financial, and contractual and schedule aspects. Has P&L responsibility for assigned programs. Works with customers to define requirements and is their primary contact on status and performance. Anticipates and fulfills customer needs to ensure their satisfaction and continued business.
  • Captures new business and contributes to defining strategy for assigned product segment. Manages a variety of Bid and Proposal efforts. Participates in business strategy sessions.
  • Leads a cross functional team of associates with a wide range of skill sets, ensuring roles and responsibilities of all team members are well understood and executed. Provides overall leadership to program team and drive execution excellence.
  • Communicates program information internally and externally.
  • Ensures program-wide focus on safety, reliability, cost and schedule, and adequacy of systems, procedures, and people for long term success.


  • 8+ years technical/programmatic experience
  • 3 or more years of PM experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Applied Science or Business
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and proactive risk management abilities.
  • Highly developed organization skills - able to plan effectively and give direction to people.
  • Ability to utilize excellent skills in decision making and risk management to generate profit and meet schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain new business from current customers.
  • Knowledge of pricing, proposals, and contracts.
  • Ability to define strategy to promote capturing business in new areas.
  • Experience with Aerospace and/or Defense related programs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean/Six Sigma/PES principles in a production environment is preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience in an environment where the focus is providing technical solutions

Project Management Professional certification is a plus
