Orbital ATK is currently seeking a Configuration/Data Management Specialist to join our team in our Clearfield, UT offices.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

The Configuration/Data Management Specialist is responsible to ensure requirements documents are created and maintained consistently to a high level while working in a fast paced environment and meeting aggressive schedule due dates.  Also participates in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Follows specific set of documentation rules and guidelines to ensure technical content meets internal and customer requirements
  • Research and verify technical content as needed
  • Evaluate technical content for cohesiveness and completeness  
  • Coordinate changes to engineering documents with engineering, quality, support manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.  Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and ensures compliance with configuration management policies
  • Performs engineering data control activities which may include: drawing/document review and release, specification preparation and review, administration of government/industry documents, and creation and release of parts and associated parts lists

Experience Requirements: 

  • Candidate must have 6 years of experience in configuration and data management (or combination of related experience and education)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient skill level working with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture

Education/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required (education will be verified)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred  

Experience Preferred

  • CMII certification preferred
  • Working knowledge and understanding of engineering documentation (i.e. models, drawings, specifications, parts, change notices, manufacturing plans, manufacturing procedures)
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience using PLM, ERP, or MRP software
